Our ancestors abducted your brothers and sisters (grey squirrels) from North America and brought them to the UK, Ireland, and mainland Europe. Grey squirrels are now being butchered in their many thousands every year. These cruel methods consist of bludgeoning to death, shooting mothers, and stamping on babies. The vast majority of organisations are informing the public that grey squirrels cannot be released if they are trapped, and that they must be killed. This is false. If the squirrel is trapped (for example, in a bird feeder, on your property, or in netting in a park), free it.
